Many people dive straight into their presentation without finding their prospects Hot Button.
The novice to presenting will go through their company compensation plan, tell the prospect why they joined without ascertaining why their prospect is even there.
The first step has got to be the ice breaker stage. Now this could take four or five minutes or it could take half an hour. Watch the body language of the prospect, and it will tell you when you can move on.
During the ice breaker stage, ask your prospect what it is that brings them to meet with you. A useful way of doing this, is to have a series of questions written down, perhaps on the back of a business card.
